At Southside UMC, we have a variety of Small Groups that meet throughout the week and are focused on various topics. Please check out the groups below and find one that works best for you.
Wednesday Night Adult Study
From August to May, the Wednesday Night Adult Study meets from 6:30-7:30pm and is taught by Pastor Carrie. The topics vary from book studies to bible studies. Currently, this group is studying The Wesley Challenge: 21 Days to More Authentic Faith by Chris Folsmbee. Previous studies included Before Amen and You'll Get Through This by Max Lucado, Simplify: Unclutter Your Soul by Bill Hybels, AHA: Awakening, Honesty and Action by Kyle Idleman, shiny gods by Mike Slaughter, Forgiveness, Final Words from the Cross, Christianity & World Religions by Adam Hamilton, and Enemies of the Heart by Andy Stanley. In addition to study, this group supports one another in prayer.
Our Women's Ministry does various bible studies throughout the year, our most recent studies being Priscilla Shirer's Armor of God and Beth's Moore Children of the Day. We also host special events throughout the year to encourage fellowship, study and prayer, including Simulcasts by Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer. In September 2016, we traveled to Mobile, AL to Beth Moore's Living Proof Live.
Emmaus Renunion Group
Members of this group have all been on the Walk to Emmaus Spiritual Retreat. They meet weekly on Friday mornings for prayer, spiritual accountability & support, and devotions led by alternating members of the group. If you've been to Emmaus, you are welcome to join the group. And if you haven't been on the Walk, this group would love to sponsor you and welcome you to the group once you're back!
